World Children’s Choir - African Drumming & Dancing Ensembles

Artistic Goals:
Develop and Polish African Drumming and Dancing Skills

Drumming I is for members of WCC's vocal ensembles. This rehearsal is held at the monthly Saturday full choir rehearsal. Students do not perform in the June West African Culture performance. Time: 8:15 am

Drumming II is for WCC singers and students from the community whose parents purchase a Djembe drum and African attire designated by the instructor. Students agree to practice regularly at home and attend a second rehearsal each month. Students perform in the June West African Culture performance. 

Time:
Section 1 12:45 to 1:30 pm
Section 2: 1:30 - 2:30 pm

Drumming III is for Drumming II students from the community who wish to enhance their skills by attending a second rehearsal each month. 

Time:
Section 1 1:00 to 1:45 pm
Section 2: 1:45 - 2:45 pm

All regular rehearsals are held on Saturdays at Charles Wesley United Methodist Church in McLean.

Extra Rehearsals: May and June are held on Tuesday evenings (6 - 8 pm) and Saturday mornings (9am to noon).

West African Culture Concert: June 11, 2011 7:00 pm at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 4250 N. Glebe Road, Arlington, VA
